Welcome from the Headteacher

Welcome to our school website where I hope that you will find what you are looking for. Manby Lodge is a Locally maintained three-form entry infant school in Weybridge. Our ethos at Manby Lodge puts children at the centre of our learning community; we look to develop the whole child and our school is one in which every person matters.

Manby Lodge is an inclusive school and all staff have high expectations and are ambitious for all children who attend. Our vision is that ‘All children exceed expectations’ and our moto is ‘Be the Best you can’. Our Governors drive staff to achieve these goals. All staff, from our Senior Leaders to Class Teachers and TAs, to our Midday and Wraparound Supervisors, challenge and support all children so that they can realise their full potential, and beyond.

We actively promote educational equity by:

  • Knowing each child and their family individually and responding to their needs, incorporating diverse backgrounds, experiences and learning styles into daily practice to create a sense of belonging. It is the job of a teacher to move each child on from their starting point.
  • Actively addressing stereotypes among staff and children to foster a positive respectful environment.
  • Investing in professional development to ensure high-quality teaching; we prioritise CPD for teachers and support staff alike, and value the contribution, skills and experience of all our members of staff.
  • Focusing on whole-child development and supporting children’s well-being – so that all children feel safe and welcome, which enables them to participate and learn, and to develop the skills they will needs for ongoing success in life.

We work closely with Surrey Local Authority, and Schools Alliance for Excellence (SAfE) and align what we do with their key objectives for children who may be impacted by disadvantage.

We pride ourselves on the fact that we see each child as unique, with their own strengths and personality. Our dedicated team provide quality care to ensure children are happy, confident and active learners.

We have new buildings and fantastic outside spaces for our children and classes are brilliantly resourced. Our enriched curriculum stimulates the academic, practical and creative potential of all of our learners, meeting their individual needs.

We believe that working in partnership with parents, carers, governors and the local community is critical to ensuring our success. We encourage parents and carers to get involved in school life in whichever way suits them best, from coming in to volunteer in school or helping out on school trips, to being an active member of our PTA or taking on a Governor role.

We hope that you will be able to get a taste of what our school is like from this website, however to see us in action, I encourage you to visit our school.

I look forward to welcoming you in person.

Miss Miriam Morris, Headteacher
